B.U. Hockey Coach Steps Down After 40 Years

Jack Parker, one of the most winning coaches in college sports, announces his resignation today after 40 years as head coach of the Boston University men’s hockey team (Bart Hanlon/Flickr).
It’s the end of an era for the Boston University men’s hockey team. Jack Parker, the long revered head coach of the Terriers is announcing today that he will retire at the end of this season.
It’s been quite a run for Parker: in 40 years, he’s collected 894 wins, the most by a coach at a single school; 21 Beanpot championships, and three national titles. For two generations, Jack Parker has been B.U. hockey.
