As Ephrons Can Attest, Bonds Of Sisterhood Are Strong
The truth is that the relationships sisters have is both a little dream and a little drama. Ok, a lot of dream and a lot of drama. But it’s a unique kind of sibling relationship that is celebrated in the book, “Sisters: An Anthology”
The book features writing by Joan Baez, Dorothy Parker, Edwidge Danticat, just to name a few. There’s a special reading of it this weekend at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester.
Whether you have a sister you’re close with or one you always fight; whether your “sisters” are your closest friends that you just couldn’t live without; or whether your friend, wife or mother is a sister, you know that sisterhood is special.
The famous Ephron sisters, Delia and Hallie, know a bit about sisterhood. In sceenplays like “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” and in novels like “Come and Find Me,” they have written about it.
So, what’s so important about a sister? Do you have a sister? What does sisterhood mean to you?
