Standing desks are showing up in more and more offices and, apparently, for good reason. A growing body of research suggests that sitting can be harmful to your health. There’s even an increasingly popular slogan that says, “Sitting is the new smoking.” But is sitting at your desk as bad for your health as smoking cigarettes? We sort through the facts.
