Littlefield On Sports: All Star Game, Red Sox, Valuable Pro Teams
Baseball’s All Star Game is tonight, live from New York. It’s the half-way point a season that’s been surprisingly good for the Red Sox. And a list of the most valuable teams in professional sports.
Forbes “Real Madrid takes the No. 1 spot as the most valuable sports franchise, worth $3.3 billion. Soccer teams occupy the next two spots as well: Manchester United comes in at No. 2 with a current value of $3.17 billion and Barcelona ranks No. 3 with a value of $2.6 billion. The New York Yankees are No. 4, valued at $2.3 billion. The Dallas Cowboys, worth $2.1 billion, hold the No. 5 spot.”
New York Times “As baseball fans from across the country arrive for the opening pitch, a group of business owners plans to protest across the street the eviction notices they received this week, the most serious threat to their livelihoods to emerge in the decade-long battle over the future of the area.”
