Littlefield On Sports: Pistorius On Trial

Olympian Oscar Pistorius, foreground, stands following his bail hearing, as his brother Carl, left, and father Henke, second from left, look on in Pretoria, South Africa, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. Pistorius fired into the door of a small bathroom where his girlfriend was cowering after a shouting match on Valentine's Day, hitting her three times, a South African prosecutor said Tuesday as he charged the sports icon with premeditated murder. The magistrate ruled that Pistorius faces the harshest bail requirements available in South African law. He did not elaborate before a break was called in the session. (AP Photo)

New York Times: “South African police said on Wednesday that officers found testosterone and needles at the home of Oscar Pistorius, a double amputee track star accused in the killing of his girlfriend, when they went to his home last week to investigate the shooting.”

ESPN: “Danica Patrick is the pole winner at the Daytona 500, and while some still question whether she can ever win consistently (she has won one race in 184 starts in IndyCar, Nationwide and Sprint Cup races), it’s clear she’s far from a publicity stunt. It’s also clear she is still extremely marketable. She has a wide range of endorsement deals from the likes of Go Daddy to Hot Wheels to Nationwide Insurance.”
