The newly formed Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra has one of Boston’s most prominent classical music conductors as its leader. Benjamin Zander was forced to give up his New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic Orchestra baton last year after it was revealed that he had hired a registered sex offender to be the group’s videographer.

Why do you only mention Ben with the hiring of the man?   This man had been used by others at NEC BEFORE Ben ever hired him. The Opera dept. used him, and others. Â
    There never was a problem.

The kids in the new orchestra are so lucky to have Ben as a mentor.
