A Photographic Diary Of The Climate Crisis

David Arnold has traveled the world photographing some of nature’s most dramatic creations, from the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps to massive coral reefs in the Caribbean.

In his travels, Arnold specifically chose locations that had been photographed by others decades earlier. But he found these areas rendered almost unrecognizable — in some cases destroyed — by climate change.

His work is part of the Double Exposure project, a photographic diary of the climate crisis.

Arnold will be giving a lecture at the New England Aquarium on Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m.

This is a really broad causation statement. Would you mind bridging the gap a little and explaining how climate change–which could be any number of things from warming sea temperatures or dramatic shifts in weather patterns and more–directly affects these areas in the photos?

Hosts Meghna Chakrabarti and Anthony Brooks introduce us to newsmakers, big thinkers and artists and bring us stories of relevance to Bostonians here and around the region. Live every weekday at 3.
