Will Sen. Kerry Become The Next Secretary Of Defense?

U.S. Sen. John Kerry is back in the spotlight: if you believe the hype, he’s being touted as America’s next top diplomat, or perhaps the new head of the Pentagon.

We speak to Jim Walsh, lecturer at MIT’s Security Studies Program, to find out what makes Kerry a likely candidate for secretary of state or defense, and what issues he’ll face if appointed to either one of those positions.

      Tossing medals and demonstrating against the Viet Nam War was a symbolic gesture to pursuade the general public to take a similar stand, and to convince Washington to end the war.

      He should stay put as a senator. He does a great job representing Massachusetts, veterans and MIA’s.

    He should finish his term.  I voted for him so we would have a Democratic vote in the senate for six years.  I didn’t vote for him to stick us with a special election that Scott Brown can win.
