Tierney, Tisei To Debate For First Time Thursday

The race for the House seat in Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District has turned into a bruising fight between Democratic incumbent Rep. John Tierney and his Republican challenger, former state Sen. Richard Tisei.

The two will debate for the first time Thursday afternoon, and questions about what Tierney knew about an illegal off-shore gambling operation run by his brothers-in-law are bound to come up. So are the charges that Tisei has embraced the conservative Tea Party movement.

We hear from both candidates.

A vote for Tsei is a vote for Speaker Boehner. It doesn’t matter if he is personally moderate on some social issues.

  Moderate on social issues? He is perhaps one of the most progressive on social issues in the state house. While in the legislature he was at the forefront of marriage equality. Not to mention his transgender protection legislation.

    And how will keeping the House controlled by Republicans advance any of those issues? Will he vote for Boeher as Speaker? Is he supporting Romney? His values on social issues are second to being a Republican.
