Nuevo Flamenco’s Ottmar Liebert Comes To Boston

Ottmar Liebert is on of the best-selling guitarists in the world. The German-born musician has multiple Gold and Platinum albums, 5 Grammy nominations, and legions of followers who are mesmerized by his ethereal, contemporary take on an old musical tradition: Flamenco.

Liebert’s latest album is called “Dune.” And like his previous work, he’s blended far-flung genres such as electronica, rumba, Arabic scales and even ambient sound into the music. We spoke with him earlier this week.

Ottmar Liebert performs at the Bull Run in Shirley, Friday, May 4 and at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River on Sunday, May 6.
