Alex Morse made news headlines when he was elected mayor of Holyoke, Mass. in November at the age of 22.

Morse has held the office for less than three weeks now, and he’s already back in the news. But this time it has nothing to do with his age. It has to do with following through on one of the major issues from his campaign – his opposition to a casino in Holyoke.

After meeting with Mayor Morse earlier this month, casino developer Hard Rock International announced that they’re now looking at what else Western Massachusetts has to offer.

I liked what he had to say. I think those Casino bigwigs thought they were going to bully him around. Good to hear he held his ground!
