Fidelity Didn’t Give Mass. A Chance To Keep Jobs

Heads in Massachusetts are still spinning a day after one of the Commonwealth’s largest employers announced it’s moving more than a thousand jobs out of state.
Fidelity Investments says it will empty out its Marlborough campus, re-assigning most of the jobs to the its offices in New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
Nancy Stevens, the three-term mayor of Marlborough, says she had no warning and Fidelity didn’t try to angle the state for a better deal in exchange for staying put.
